KARACHI: The head of
Sindh Water Commission Justice (retd) Amir Hani Muslim on Monday gave a period of three months to the industries for installing water treatment plants along with a written resolution.
During the hearing pertaining to the installment of water treatment plants, industries were warned by the commission’s hea
d that if they fai
l to install the plants, their industrial units will be sealed.
Notification regarding the supply of water and installing functional treatment plants has also been forwarded to the federal energy secretary.
Representatives from over 35 industries including the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) appeared before the commission in today’s hearing.
The DHA representatives brought along with them a work plan and an affidavit regarding the treatment plants.
Water from DHA phase 5,6 and 8 would not be drained into the sea until after April 2019 whereas the water would be treated in other phases o
f DHA through TP-4.
DG Port Qasim was ordered by the head of the water commission to make sure that a drainage system shall be installed through sewerage
pipeline and if not available then the
pipeline is to be laid in the period of two months.
Establishment of a public tank in Baldia Town Sector 4 was also ordered and to be taken care of within a week.
